Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile app for managing your Ledger hardware wallet. Unlike traditional accounts, Ledger Live does not use a username and password to “log in” online. Instead, it relies on your Ledger device and PIN for secure access.

Step 1: Download Ledger Live

2. Download the version for your system: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android.
3. Install the app following the instructions.

Transactions cannot be signed without the physical device, ensuring your funds remain secure even if the computer is compromised.

You cannot fully log in or manage crypto without your Ledger device. Ledger Live is designed this way intentionally — it’s a “cold wallet” system where the device is the source of security.

• You can view portfolios in “read-only” mode for some setups, but sending crypto requires your Ledger hardware.

Step 6: Recovery & Security

• If you lose your device, your funds can still be recovered with your 24-word recovery phrase on a new Ledger.
• Never enter your recovery phrase in Ledger Live or any online form. Ledger Live never asks for your seed directly.
